# STR & SAR Reporting Support in the UAE

> Help the responsible team organise the facts and reporting workflow when suspicious activity is identified.

The UAE Financial Intelligence Unit receives Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) through goAML. The appropriate report type depends on whether the concern involves a transaction or other suspicious activity.
TGA can help organise supporting information, internal escalation and draft report material for the reporting entity's authorised officer. The decision to file, the report's accuracy and the submission remain the entity's responsibility.

## What we cover

- **Internal escalation:** Set out how concerns reach the responsible compliance officer or MLRO.
- **Report preparation:** Organise the relevant facts, parties, transactions and supporting records.
- **Submission support:** Help the authorised team work through the goAML reporting process and retain an internal record.

## How we work

1. **Clarify the concern:** Review the facts and the information already available.
2. **Prepare evidence:** Bring together a clear chronology and supporting materials.
3. **Support the responsible officer:** Coordinate next steps under the reporting entity's direction.

## Useful information to share

- Internal alert or concern summary
- Customer and beneficial owner information
- Relevant transaction or activity records
- Responsible officer and goAML access details

Suspicion and filing decisions belong to the reporting entity and its designated officer. Reports may be time-sensitive and must follow the applicable rules, including confidentiality obligations.
